10 tips on making a powerpoint presentation
When you create your presentation, please remember this:
- It is always better to conclude your presentation a little too early than too late
- Less is more – be aware of text volume
- You are communicating orally, so use spoken language and do not read aloud
- You are the message – use empty slides when you speak to attract attention
- Your slides are not your manuscript – hold it in your hand or know it by heart
- Slow down and invite a dialogue – avoid rushing through the presentation
- Communicate actively and orally – use quotations, questions or bullets in your slides
- PowerPoint slides are ideal for visual messages, but do not let technology take over
- Never use only capital letters, italics or underlining – it is difficult for the eye to decode
- Never write a font size smaller than 16 in a PowerPoint presentation.
